Modern Air Data Computers can be used to solve many problems associated with the Pitot Static systems found in aging aircraft and lend themselves well to new digitally based aircraft and upgrade programs, such as the move to glass cockpit displays. Air Data Computers can not only eliminate the requirement for mechanical damping systems which reduce the effects of downwash caused by rotorcraft using digital filtering, they can also hold many configurations of Source Error Correction data and can be tailored to use inputs from specific aircraft hardware, all configurable using software. This enables the procurement of an Air Data Computer with one part number that is compatible with a fleet of different aircraft. Modern Air Data Computers can be easily optimised for Rotary and Fixed Wing applications.
ESCADU can store up to 15 configurations in a single unit allowing a unit with the same part number to be used across 15 different aircraft platforms. This reduces the cost of ownership through reduced spares requirements and simplified, flexible fleet management. It uses digital filtering to counter the effects of downwash, eliminating the need for mechanical damping systems such as large volumes attached to Pitot Static pipework. ESCADU has a prestigious pedigree and is in operation on some of the most well established platforms in aerospace.
The ADCM provides high accuracy data (up to +/- 0.25 Bar) consistently over long periods by using high accuracy, low drift sensors that reduce maintenance overhead. It is a custom product using technology that will forge the future of the Curtiss Wright Air Data Computer product line.
The CCADTS-2 is an Air Data Test Set which applies pressure to the Pitot and Static ports of an aircraft and performs all testing functions required to calibrate air data cockpit instruments in situ. It can be operated by one person only and reduces aircraft ground time and calibration costs.
